One of the New Zealand real estate industry’s most well-connected innovators has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of the country’s leading property investing education company.
Declan Wyndham–Smith, the brains behind www.realchoices.co.nz, and www.streetvalue.co.nz, and the former New Zealand manager of www.allrealestate.co.nz, has taken the helm at Richmastery.
Declan founded Real Choice Ltd, the unique nationwide real estate broking company in 2002 and has successfully built it up to help its customers sell well over $200million worth of property.
He co-founded StreetValue in 2007 to offer the New Zealand public the first free ‘property reports’ service giving data on key real estate buying indicators such as rental values, and demographics.
He also successfully worked with major real estate franchise groups and many independent offices to establish the New Zealand ‘allrealestate’ website, which within 18 months had 42,000 property listings from over 650 real estate offices being the country’s third largest real estate website.
Declan’s property and business contacts and knowledge have enabled him to propel these companies to exceptional levels of success and he now hopes to do the same for Richmastery.
While maintaining an interest in Real Choice Ltd and StreetValue Declan is excited to lead the team at Richmastery and build on the dynamic platform started by Auckland-based founding-director and entrepreneur Phil Jones in 2001.

Declan’s appointment marks the start of an exciting new era for Richmastery, which now has 10 franchised offices across the country and has educated more than 71,000 people.
The 42-year-old, who lives in Auckland with his wife and two sons, said he was excited by the appointment and ready to take up the challenge and hit the ground running.
“The property education model Richmastery has built up is fantastic and provides a great platform for growth,” said Declan.
“In the current market I see a real need for education – there is much change and my job is to ensure we provide customers with up-to-date relevant information and strategies for investing today.
“I know we will do this and I look forward to helping new clients grow successful portfolios as well as welcoming back existing customers now looking to refresh their knowledge in the current market.”
While real estate education is at the core of Richmastery’s business, Declan who officially started with Richmastery on Monday, February 25, 2008, is also looking to grow the many sister companies attached to the group.
“I have already made a start into reviewing Richmastery Business,” he explained.
“I am passionate about business and believe we are well placed as experienced educators to help small to medium business owners in particular profit from their enterprises.
“There is a great opportunity here for us to corner this market as well as the property education market and I am excited about growing this area of the company.”
With Declan on board Phil, who will remain a director of Richmastery, intends to take a step back from the day to day running of the company to focus on other projects.
